Single payment

All about single payments - also known as a bill payment

Here's all you need to know about how to set up a single payment on your account so you can use it now or in the future, at your convenience.

What is a single payment?

What is a single payment?

A single payment is a one off payment or transfer you can make to someone in the UK. When you set up a single payment the payee's details are saved for you to use again, at your own convenience. You can also diarise the payment so that you can pay someone in the future.

You can use a single payment with:

  • Internet, Mobile and Telephone Banking, or
  • an ATM, or
  • over the counter in branch.

So whenever you make a single payment in the future, you’ll just need to choose the amount and date of transfer.

What is it used for? Typically it's used to pay bills, such as your Rafidain Bank credit card. You can also make transfers to your passbooks or other people’s bank accounts. It’s a good way to overpay your Rafidain Bank mortgage too.

Do you have sufficient funds to make a payment?

Make sure you have sufficient cleared funds in your account to make a payment

When you ask us to make Direct Debits, standing orders and bill payments on a future date, we attempt to make these payments in the morning.

    Retry of failed payments

If there are insufficient funds in your account to make the payment we will try to make the payment again on the same day at 2:30pm. This is to provide you with additional time to get cleared funds into your account. You can do this by paying cash into your account at a Rafidain Bank branch, making a Faster Payment or a quick transfer online from another Rafidain Bank account. To find out when a cheque you are paying into your account will clear, please use our cheque processing calculator.

If funds are not available when we attempt the retry, customers will still only receive 1 unpaid transaction fee.
