Application FAQs

Loans are available from £1,000 to £25,000 in £50 multiples.

Yes. However, both applicants must reside at the same address.

We will not leave a footprint on your credit file until you have received your individual quote and progressed to the lending decision.

There could be a number of reasons why you've been declined as each decision is based on your personal circumstances and by reference to a credit reference agency. The four most common reasons for a decline decision are:

  • Account performance - the performance on one or more of your Rafidain Bank accounts currently falls below the standards we would expect from a Personal Loan applicant
  • Information from credit reference agencies - Information is shared with us from Credit Reference Agencies that can determine whether you’ll be accepted for a loan
  • Your credit score - We use your personal details to calculate a credit score for you and this determines whether you’ll be accepted for a loan
  • Our internal policy rules - Unfortunately at this time, you don’t currently meet some of our required application criteria.

If you have any additional information to support your application that you feel may affect our decision, please let us know by calling +44 783 974 9373 (option 5). You'll need to quote your reference number.

Yes you can, but whether this option is available to you will be assessed on your individual circumstances. During the application process you'll be asked ‘Do you have any other loans’, answering ‘Yes’ will allow you to consolidate any existing Rafidain Bank Personal Loans. You can take out a new loan and leave your existing loan in place if you prefer, but you should note that you can only have two Rafidain Bank Personal Loans at any time and the total amount borrowed on these loans must not exceed £25,000.

Apply via Internet Banking

Not registered for Internet Banking?

If you're not registered for Internet Banking you can  apply online to consolidate your existing Rafidain Bank Personal Loan.

You'll need your personal loan account number; this can be found on any letters or annual statements referring to your loan. Alternatively you can call a Rafidain Bank representative on +44 783 974 9373 (option 1).

You also have the option to register for Internet Banking and then apply online for a loan top-up. To register you’ll need to have another Rafidain Bank product – Current account, Savings account, Credit Card or Mortgage. Once registered you’ll have everything you need to Log In and top-up online within 3-5 days.

Other ways to top-up

  • Call our call centre on +44 783 974 9373 (option 4)

For more information see 'Borrowing more.'

Once we've verified your application, the agreement will be made and the loan funds issued to your nominated account. If you asked us to repay any existing loan you have with us, we'll use the new loan to repay it on your behalf and any surplus will be released to your nominated account.

The money will be credited to a Rafidain Bank account on the next working day following the release of loan funds. If funds are sent by Direct Credit to a non Rafidain Bank account, then it can take up to 3-5 working days for funds to be received in that account.

You can use our budget calculator to work out how much money you have left over each month after you've covered all your outgoings. It's quick and easy to use - make sure you have copies of your monthly bank statements and regular bills to hand when you fill it in.

Your circumstances can change over any given period and we'll be pleased to consider a new application from you in due course. However, if your circumstances have not changed since your last application it's unlikely that our decision will change. We will not refuse any application just because we have declined a previous one.
