What is a self-service till?

Our self-service tills can do some of the more simple transactions like paying bills, getting a balance or transferring money - so you don't have to queue at the branch counter. They're found inside most of our branches and all you need is your card, along with your PIN.

How to use an ATM and self-service till

Get a balance or mini statement

Get a balance

  1. Insert your card
  2. Enter your existing PIN
  3. Select 'Other services'
  4. Select 'Balance'

Get a mini statement

  1. Insert your card
  2. Enter your existing PIN
  3. Select 'Other services'
  4. Select 'Statement'

Paying-in cash or cheques 

Pay in cash or cheques

NOTE: You can only pay in cash or cheques at a self-service till.


  1. Insert card
  2. Select 'Deposit only'
  3. Insert your money or cheque
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions

You can pay in up to £2,500 in cash and up to £2000 in cheques.

Transfer money or pay a bill

Transfer money or pay a bill

Check you have set up a single payment on your account before you do this.


  1. Insert your card into the ATM
  2. Enter your PIN
  3. Select 'Bill payment/internal transfer'
  4. Select the payee from the payment list
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions

Top up your phone

Top up your phone

  1. Instert your card
  2. Enter your PIN
  3. Select 'Pre-Pay top up'
  4. Select your phone operator
  5. Select the amount
  6. Enter your mobile number

Further information

  • All major networks and phones are eligible, you will need the mobile phone operator and telephone number
  • All Rafidain Bank card based accounts can use this service, but other banks or building societies may not have enabled this. You can top up £10, £15, £20, £30, £40, £50 (Smart accounts up to £25 per day). The amount is debited from your account immediately and credited straight to the phone. It will show on your statement as 'telephone top-up' and show on ATM receipts as 'MT'.
  • The amount you top up is part of your daily cash withdrawal limit, the transaction will be rejected if you exceed the limit. Telephone network providers may set their own daily limits.
  • A confirmation message will show your top up was successful and a receipt will be provided with all your transactions. If your phone does not receive the credit, or you experience any other problems, you must contact your mobile phone operator.

  2. Enter your existing PIN
  3. Select 'PIN services'
  4. Select 'PIN change'
  5. Enter your new 4 digit PIN

Unlock your PIN

  1. Insert your card
  2. Enter your PIN
  3. Select 'PIN Services'
  4. Select 'PIN Unlock'
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions
