Using your card abroad

Managing your Rafidain Bank Select Credit Card

We thought you might have some questions about how you can check your spending day to day, so we've included the different ways you can manage your account here. We've also added some information about our commission-free use abroad. Please note that the balance transfers at 0% must be made within 3 months from account opening.

With Select, there's no commission charge for credit card purchases abroad

Yes, that's right, the Rafidain Bank Select Credit Card features commission-free purchases abroad. Quite simply all purchases overseas will be free of any commission charges - which is great news for your holiday spending!

How overseas purchases work

If you carry out a transaction using your card in a currency other than sterling, it'll be converted to sterling on the day the transaction is processed by our card scheme providers at a wholesale rate of exchange.

For an indication of that exchange rate, you can see the Visa wholesale rate of exchange at visaeurope.com/fxcalculator. (This is an "indication" as rates can change daily and transactions are processed when the retailer passes them on to the scheme provider, which is generally not on the same day the transaction took place.)

To compare the rates and charges for using your card abroad, please see our using your cards abroad page.
